چکیده

In this paper critical path analysis is used for predicting the behavior of conservative cellular network simulation on a distributed simulation environment. Parallel event traces, i.e. event traces that contain both real and null messages, are used for the analysis. A receive-process-send approach is proposed for computing the event execution times required by the critical path analysis. A procedure is proposed for computing the critical times for different configurations. The implemented procedure can be used for estimating the properties of the application, algorithm and the simulation environment. It can also be used for finding better LP distributions. The obtained results show that good approximations can be achieved through critical path analysis.

Generating event traces based on arrival curves

System-level performance-evaluation methods for computer and communication systems can be divided into two main areas: simulation and analytic methods. Analytic methods are often fast but rather coarse, whereas simulation is time-consuming but often leads to more accurate results. Therefore, there is the need to (a) determine analytic models from simulation results, actual measurements or forma...

HAEC-SIM: a simulation framework for highly adaptive energy-efficient computing platforms

This work presents a new trace-based parallel discrete event simulation framework designed for predicting the behavior of a novel computing platform running energy-aware parallel applications. Discrete event traces capture the runtime behavior of parallel applications on existing systems and form the basis for the simulation. The simulation framework processes the events of the input trace by a...

Evaluating the Effectiveness of Daylight Performance Metrics in Predicting Visual Comfort Case Study: Educational Architecture Design Studios in Tehran

It is essential to ensure that adequate daylight penetrates in, especially, educational environments. In spite of positive significant impacts of daylight on the emotions, concentration, and learning of students, an exceeded amount of light will lead to glare and visual dissatisfaction. Over the last few years, with the help of simulation tools and lighting indices, it is possible to predict li...

Iranian Railway System Performance Analysis Using Computer Simulation and Data Envelopment Analysis Methods

In this paper, a discrete event simulation model of Iranian railway system is used for analyzing performance of the system in freight sector. The model analysis shows more sensitivity of the system on loading and unloading facilities than on number of wagons and locomotives. System optimization through simulation optimization technique, shows that more than 4% of all wagons available in the n...
